Hello everyone,

I guess, the simplest way to state my problem, is saying exactly what it is... I've recently become involved in a case of mistaken identity regarding the internet. In other words, apparently something has been submitted by me that I did not submit. I'm looking to how I can prove that I did not submit this piece of work. I'm aware of the existence of IP addresses, but I'm having to prove this to people external to the websites... so how am I able to do that? How would I obtain the IP address actual computer that submitted the piece of work? I guess by contacting the webmaster? Also, once I have that IP address, I merely have to show that mine is not the same to prove that it wasn't from the same computer right?

But how can I also prove I did not submit it from any other computers? Can I actually locate where the IP address that submitted it is? And how do I go about doing this?

Basically, I'm trying to prove that I didn't submit something onto a website that was apparently submitted by me. And I need some solid evidence. Help?

You can allways ask the webmaster to do so. Since this is privileged information you will have a hard time getting this info from the webmaster. However if this is based on a membership site the webmaster should be able to see when logged who in with which IP adress
