Hi anyone,

Is it possible to use the Windows XP "Send To" tool to burn music files to CD that will play on a regular CD player? Or do you need a special burning program like Nero for this? I know Nero will do it but I was wondering if Windows XP's "Send To" will also accomplish this. If not what exactly does "Send To" all accomplish?

Also, is it possible to record to your PC music selections that sites play as advertising? - streaming music that you can listen to on your PC from Musician's sites. Is it ethical even if you can? I would like to know if you can though anyhow (without a Mic of course).

Thank you.

John

I am not a lawyer, but I have looked into this issue before. And it is my understanding that it IS legal - as long as it is only for your personal (not commercial) use, on YOUR computer, and you do NOT make copies of it. How do you accomplish this feat? You need software that will record everything that goes through your sound card.

This technique is also used ... well, I better not get into this too much as it might be a violation of the rules here at BC.

That is all I can say.
