Computer taking extra long to start up. Time is close to ten minutes. Used Adware, Spybot,CCleaner,Cleanup and Virus Scan with Avast all in safe mode. I just recently updated my drivers via a pcpitstop scan.
No luck. Any suggestions? Thanks for any help! Here is the Hijack This Log:

Hey charlieone

Can you give me some details on your computer specification.

Msconfig:

I see that you might be running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following:

Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot.

Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it as a reply.

Good Afternoon! Just got your message. I have Intel Pentium 4, 2.5 Gigs/ Windows Xp Professional Version 2002,Service Pack 2, 512 MB ram, I.E.Version SP2 & Mozilla Firefox Brower, Avast Anti-virus and Zone Alarm. I run CCleaner every day and run Avast Virus Scan, Lavasoft, Spybot, A2square and Spyblaster at least twice per week in safe mode. Just did a Disk De-frag, used Cleanup to get rid of junk files and made a visit to PCpitstop to check my system. All Flags are a go. One other thing that could be an issue related to this? Any time I make changes to the msconfig area in start up I get the message: "An access was denied error was returned while attempting to change a service." Yet, any changes I make do hold up after a reboot. As you requested, I checked all of my startup items
(SUPER YIKES  ) but ok, I'm trusting ya. Here is my latest Hijack Log aftwards: Thanks!

Hey charlieone

Update Java:

Your version of Java is now outdated. Java vulnerabilites are commonly exploited by viruses so I strongly recommend you update. Click here to download the latest version of java ( Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 10 ). Please install it and then reboot your computer.

Remove the older versions of Java:
  • Click Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
  • Delete all Java updates except J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 10
File Sharing Programs:

Napster

You most likely got infected through file sharing. Please read this writeup and this article so you better understand the dangers of file sharing. If you continue this risky behavior you will be continually reinfected. If you are adamant about keeping the program/s (which I strongly advise against) then please could you have the courtesy of uninstalling the program whilst we fix your computer.

Uninstall List:

1. Open Hijackthis and select: Open the Misc Tools section.
2. Then choose: Open Uninstall Manager and click Save List.
3. Save the list to your computer.
4. Then copy the contents of the list back to this thread in your next reply.

Can you just confirm you are aware of the fact that you have GoToMyPc installed on your computer.

Slowly but surely! Amazing. Oops 1! I actually thought I had the latest version of Java as I downloaded from filehippo. And since it is a tool software program I thought the program automatically overwrote existing versions so I never bothered to uninstall existing versions.

Ooops 2! I suscribe to Napster paying a fee every month and DO NOT VOLUNTARILY SHARE FILES. However, little did I know there is a section that was checked for me to do this. Now unchecked. Again, I do not share files and never will "voluntarily" leave my computer open to such possible wreckage. I trust Napster because it is a pay for site of which only music approved by the artist and/or record companiesare available for download at which I trust Security is highly maintained.

Yes I'm aware of Go to My Computer as it's used for work.

Big Alarm: when I checked to have EVERYTHING run in Msconfig. Rundll32.exe appeared in my Task Manager. After reading up on it at this site I went to find it in the registry and also found Daemon32 and NvcplDaemon32 of which I deleted. An odd find in my registry was something called ImprocServer32. I would have overlooked it if I did not see the word Apartment listed under Data. Tons of keys of this all throughout my Reg. Maybe it's nothing?

Hey charlieone

Big Alarm: when I checked to have EVERYTHING run in Msconfig. Rundll32.exe appeared in my Task Manager. After reading up on it at this site I went to find it in the registry and also found Daemon32 and NvcplDaemon32 of which I deleted. An odd find in my registry was something called ImprocServer32. I would have overlooked it if I did not see the word Apartment listed under Data. Tons of keys of this all throughout my Reg. Maybe it's nothing?

If your going to delete stuff on your own please don't tell me because you will ruin your system
Any problems you have please tell me after I have cleaned your computer - but do not delete stuff on your own. I cannot be held responsible if you bork your system because you deleted good files.

Please could you post a fresh Hijackthis log. All your programs in that list are clean which is good news.

I am sooo sorry. Because I can't afford a computer crash I thought that's what I should do. Of course I will not be holding you responsible for anything I decide to do on my own. Thanks.
Just to let you know I also see the word Yanz in my registry. After doing a little reading I have discovered that this refers to an infection?

So I will not touch a thing until I hear from you. Thanks!

Can you just confirm if you have rebooted your pc since Post #3? Can you go back to the msconfig post and follow the steps again. I need to know that everything is enabled - it will help clean your pc faster

Yes I have rebooted since post three and everything is still checked in Msconfig. But I did stop some running processes. Should I reboot again?

Yep please reboot again. IF you get the message saying you have used msconfig - please make sure to check the box which says don't show this dialog box again. Then post a new Hijackthis log.
