Question About A "rootkit"

I was told there are a few files that were discovered on my computer that is called a "rootkit". it was described to me as some sort of spyware. can someone please tell me more about this and how to get rid of it? these are the files that were found.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\$sys$filesystem\$sys$DRMServer.exe
O23 - Service: Plug and Play Device Manager ($sys$DRMServer) - First 4 Internet Ltd - C:\WINDOWS\system32\$sys$filesystem\$sys$DRMServer.exe
