The HDD on my new computer failed in some way , so I took it back to the manufactures service and repair office, They informed that the HDD was corrupted ..?
And they could back up some files but not all. And had to reload the OS (Windows XP Pro Media Edition)

When I got home I downloaded the Windows up dates (on dial up connection, don’t ask me how long it took please!! ) After all the up dates were downloaded and installed, I then went to the add / remove panel, to see the up dates, as I had done with my old version of Windows XP Pro Media edition…. Which all way’s showed the up date number and date Etc… but on this new Windows XP Pro Media Edition
That the manufactures had installed, the up dates were not shown on the add / remove panel..? the OS version they have installed is…..

Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
Version 2002
Service Pack 2

Am I missing some thing …? Why could I see the up dates on the add / remove panel in my old version , but can't find them shown any where in this new version..?

Your comments and advice most welcome

Thanks ….. Mypenry

Do you have "Show Updates" selected at the top of the Add\Remove window?

You might want to go to Windows Updates and check your installation history to make sure all updates were successful.

If you find any that failed follow directions on the screen.
