I read the tutorial on how to use Hijackthis myself and got to get rid of some of these annoyances. However, when I use Spybot, there are still some that won't go away. The main ones are UCmore, InternetOptimizer,Smitfraud, Nurech.d, Win32.Trojan.MatrixHasYou, and I think Centinel VxD.

I tried to get rid of some .exe and .dll files myself through the Task Manager, but my computer is still running slow. I even tried to use all the programs suggested on this site, but I think Panda Antivirus+Firewall is not being installed properly and is keeping me from accessing the internet. Also my Disk Cleanup freezes when searching for free space, so I haven't gotten to clear out the Temp and Temporary Internet Files folders.

One big problem I've had for months is that my computer has problems restarting (that blue screen pops up and the computer restarts without loading windows, even when I try a system restore). I'm thinking these viruses have something to do with it. Also, my desktop keeps going away and I get the "Active Desktop Recovery" screen in its place.

I would be super grateful if someone could figure out how to fix these problems. Here the Hijackthis log....

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Your biggest issue at this point is that your version of Windows is dangerously out of date and insecure. This makes it very easy for your computer to become infected. We will be wasting our time to clean you up unless you can get this computer updated with all of the current patches and security updates.

Can you access the Internet at all on this computer?

Hi Sam. Thanks for the quick reply. I've had problems in the past with getting windows to properly download updates. I'm gonna try again and see if it'll work.

Let me know how it goes and we can work through it. At the very least you need to install Service Pack 1a.
