Sound Problems

i have re-installed windows on my toshiba lattitude pro laptop
all my drivers are in place
but i have no sound through the speakers
if i plug headphones in the headphone socket
sound is ok
but will not play through the laptop speakers
i have tried all the different settings
i.e laptop mono..laptop stereo..desktop speakers
and so on but still no sound
could it still be a driver problem

Is there a way to enable the speakers in the BIOS? Do they have a switch to turn them on (Toshiba is really good about hiding little switches on their systems). Have you checked all of the Toshiba utilities for a check box to enable it?
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
