Has anyone been inside the case? If so, the most likely reason is that something got disconnected. Since it's both drives, I'd suspect the socket where that cable plugs into the motherboard.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

An installation of Adobe Photoshop Elements 4 can kill your drives - except the internal hardrive 'C '. That happened to me and the registy had to be tweaked. If you have installed Adobe, go to the Adobe users forum where you will be told how to do the tweaking Or I can email it to you.

Good luck and best wishes. whatapalaver.
