Hey,
I have a D-LINK DI-624 Wireless router. I am using Bulletproof FTP SERVER on my computer which on the network ends in the IP .102. I went to my router options and went to DMZ and changed it to ending in .102. For some reason when I access my FTP server with my "network ip" 192.168.1.102, it works, but when trying my real ip (www.whatismyip.com), it doesn't work. Why does this happen? How can I fix it? Thanks.

Have you forwareded the FTP ports (in your router setup) to point to your FTP server (the .102 system)?

Also, I've used Bulletproof FTP server and it's an excellent program. BUT! I received an average of 8 attempts to access my system each night after it had been running a while. Make sure you've set good passwords for it!
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

#1, set good passwords for what? my computer? or my bulletproof? Also, how do you set up port forwarding in d-link? I changed the DMZ to .102 (my system). Isn't that the same thing? If not, how do I go about forwarding it on my router I described above?

I was referring to the Bulletproof FTP - but it's also essential on your Windows since you'll have an open "portal" into your system by using FTP (FWIW - I gave up on the FTP and now use pcAnywhere instead).

If you don't forward the ports, then the traffic that comes in on the FTP ports doesn't know which computer it's supposed to go to.

Go to this page and select the appropriate revision of your router: http://support.dlink.com/products/revision.asp

Then search for port forwarding on their site. FWIW - this appears to be the "generic" setup for FTP on DLink routers similar to yours: http://support.dlink.com/supportfaq/Displa...emplateId=33571
