Help Ran Smitfraud C Did Not Work

I have a pop up on my tool bar saying critical error and been told it was smitfraud c so I went to the site here to do recomendations but when it said hit any key to continue it wouldnt continu. I have the icon on desk top for the smitfraudfix but it wount let me continue ...please help.. is it safe for me to be having my banking info on my comp with this?
