Happy Holidays peeps... I hope you're only reviewing this during your leisure moments and not living on this forum. Anywayz, I'm new and grateful to any and all who offer assistance on the following issue.... My system is running really, really, slowly lately ( i think coincident with the downloading of WIndows XP SP2, but i'm not sure). :flowers:
So I checked task manager and saw 2 disturbing things: (1) "regedit.exe" is constantly running in the background, but not using a lot of CPU resources (or so it says). It does sometime reappear though after I nuke it. (2) "spoolsv.exe" is running in the background and using ~92% of CPU resources. When I disable it, system runs much better... but, I no can print. I reviewed prior posts and have some ideas but am posting my HiJackThis log for the pros out there.

Also, another issue is that I get a "web page unavailble" page when I try to click on certain hyperlinks, e.g. yahoo mail, ebay, even this site. I don't see a consistent pattern. I'm able to access some secure sites sometimes but not others. I use IE and have a DSL DLink wireless router based connection.

Again, I'll appreciate anything you can offer.... Thanks!

I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to reenable those startup entries by doing the following:

Please click on start, then run, and type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press ok until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot.

Now please create a new Hijackthis Log and post it as a reply.

Print out these instructions and then close all windows including Internet Explorer.

Then I want you to fix some of those entries. Please do the following:

Please make sure that you can view all hidden files. Instructions on how to do this can be found here:

How to see hidden files in Windows

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of these. Then click the Fix button:

O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SpyKiller] C:\Program Files\SpyKiller\spykiller.exe /startup
O4 - Startup: PowerReg SchedulerV2.exe
O9 - Extra button: Corel Network monitor worker - {F6DB3830-B16B-4DDF-9F7D-6AF662419A84} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\intlmain.dll
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Corel Network monitor worker - {F6DB3830-B16B-4DDF-9F7D-6AF662419A84} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\intlmain.dll
O9 - Extra button: Corel Network monitor worker - {F6DB3830-B16B-4DDF-9F7D-6AF662419A84} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\intlmain.dll (HKCU)
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} - http://software-dl.real.com/2513676125df75...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Reboot your computer into Safe Mode

Then delete these files or directories (Do not be concerned if they do not exist)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\intlmain.dll

Reboot your computer to go back to normal mode and post a new log.

The log is clean . You should see if there is a newer print driver for your printer. It is a brother right?

A newer driver may fix this problem or be more compatible with SP2.
