Lately, my computer has been running more than frustratingly slowly. I'm almost hoping I have some kind of infection rather than having to face the reality that my computer is just out dated, so I here I am with a hijackthis log. Or maybe there's running processes that I could kill...anything to speed up this piece of junk.

Some of the symptoms of this slow thing: Explorer is right now running at 17,284K, which seems to be excessive, but I can't say for sure. Also, my CPU usuage is routinely at 100%, and this hasn't always been the case. It is only 1.4 GHz, but that seems like it should be enough for everyday browsing. Anyway, here's my HJT log. If you have any help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Paul

Hello, Paul22. I will be helping you with your log.

FIRST
When your computer is running slow, please press:

Ctrl + Alt + Del

This will open up the Task Manager. Click on the Performance tab. Look under Physical Memory (K), tell me the numbers you see for Total and Available.

Also, click on the Processes tab and tell me which process(es) are running high numbers in the CPU column.

NEXT
Sorry you had such a long wait here in the HJT forum, but I need to see a more current log. Please, open HijackThis and click Scan and when scan is complete click Save Log. Copy the entire contents of that log and post it by clicking the Add Reply button here in the forum, along with the information requested above.
