Hi all I hope someone can help. I'm not bad with computers but I'm certainly no expert.

Basically I have a red circle with a white cross in my toolbar which continuously pops up informing me that my system is infected with spyware - I believe this is a pretty common virus - correct me if I'm wrong. Basically, I have AOL spyware protection, search and destroy, norton, spybot and AVG. They are all the free versions and I ran full scans on each the other death - all of which identified a number of threats which I subsequently removed. However, I now seem to have this red circle in my toolbar again and my spyware software keeps mentioning a suspicious file - not a virus hoax win32 renos eo. It also says that it is probably harmless but I'm not too sure.

Is anyone able to explain in simple terms how I can get rid of this once and for all? many thanks in advance

Welcome to bleepingcomputer MM1984
Please try these instructions to see if we can get it out before we post a Hijackthis log.
I'm gonna go with XP here,So if not let us know

Download and scan with AVG Anti-Spyware 7.5 Free in "SAFE MODE". How to start Windows in Safe Mode
Print out the AVG Install and Scan Instructions. HERE
Be sure to check for the any updates to all these programs after you install them.

Download and run SUPERAntiSypware, free version Home User

Now Run Windows Live OneCare
Be sure to click ONLY on the grey box below the picture of a wrench “Full Service Scan”
This may take some time especially it it needs to defragment the drive.
Please post back with any questions and results
