I'm not sure if this issue is dangerous or just a glitch, but every now and then, once my computer comes out of a screensaver, the desktop tries to refresh, and all the icons turn into the blank white icons you see with a file that's not assigned a program to open with. This has been fixed before by running the screensaver again. Several time though, this doesn't work, and the problem persists with almost all icons. Rebooting doesn't have an effect. The problem seems to eventually repair itself but I wanted to see if there was an easy fix and whether or not I should be worried about it.

Thanks in advance to anyone who puts forth advice.

F5 is apparently equal to refreshing. No effect. Screen refreshes to what it was before.

Just a hunch, but you may want to update your video drivers to see if this helps. Yours may have become corrupted and an update should fix that.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
