I have a friends pc and I got it to boot in to safe mode once. Now It will do nothing just locks up when it starts to load. If I boot up normally I can sometimes get in. But as soon as I do anything the cp shuts down and reboots. I've scanned the hdd for viruses etc it is clean and the registry looks good. I want to check the error log but I can not get in now. I checked all the heat sinks a few are pretty warm to the touch but nothing to severe. I went ahead and tried to run memtest and as soon as it would start the pc would shut down. So I went ahead and changed out the memory with no improvment. So I am at a stand still all fans are working. I opened up the case and sat a huge mother of a fan towards the cpu to see if that would help.....nope no diffrence. I am woundering what I am missing or if maybe the board could be bad. I can not find any shorts are signs of shorts. Thinking now a hammer might be the best solution!
