Sound Card Driver Problems

hi all need some help with a problem on my dads computer he sent it away to have a new motherboard fitted but its come back with no sound card driver installed so i need to find the driver for it on the net but i am struggling a little i dont what sound card is fitted can anybody help is there any where i can look without stripping the computer to find what make it is

Windows default sound drivers should allow you to hear sound. Have you had to reinstall your operating system? If not then presumably the operating system is using the old drivers for the sound hence no sound or soundcard being detected.

Try looking at: START>> CONTROL PANEL>> SOUND AND AUDIO DEVICES. Once this has loaded the first 'tab' should say what sound device you have.

If that doesen't work let us know what motherboard you have.
If all else fails, hit the reset button.
