Hi Guys,
Im running XP Home with SP2 and everything is up to date including the newst version of Windows Media Player.
Every now and again when im playing an MP3 or a video file, the player locks up.
The content is still playing, .. so i can still here the tune, or watch the video but thats all .... every other functionality of the player is locked out, and the egg-timer icon is showing next to it, ... no matter how long its left, it never corrects itself.
When i open the task manager, in the applications list, i can see two instances of Media Player being displayed.
The only thing i can do to rectify the situation is to end task, then end the dumprep process to free the system up again.

Anyone else have this problem or have any idea why this might be happening on such a regular basis ??

Cheers,
If there really was a god, then why is my ass the perfect height for kicking ???

I assume you were working now with WMP11? Was it working in the earlier version?
