Hi

Download the stand-alone version of CWShredder from here
Install the program.

Make sure all browser windows are closed and run cwshredder.exe to start the program and click on the FIX button (not the "Scan only" button) and let it scan your computer.

REBOOT your computer and post a new hijackthis log please.
Everyday is virus day. Do you know where your recovery CDs are ?
Did you create them yet ?

Hi

Please print or copy these instructions because you are not able to access the Internet in SafeMode.

Download Ad-aware SE 1.05: here
Install it. When you get the last screen, with the "Finish" button and 3 options, uncheck those three items.
Open AdAware and click the "Check for updates now" link. Close AdAware. Don't use it yet.

Download System Security Suite here:
System Security Suite Download & Tutorial. Unzip it to your desktop.
Install the program. Don't use it yet.

Make sure you are set to show hidden files and folders:
A. On the Tools menu in Windows Explorer, click Folder Options.
B. Click the View tab.
C. Under Hidden files and folders, click Show hidden files and folders.
D. Uncheck Hide extensions for known filetypes and Hide protected operating system files.
How to see hidden files in Windows

REBOOT into SafeMode by tapping F8 key repeatedly at bootup: Starting your computer in Safe mode

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

Hi

Run HijackThis!, press Scan, and put a check mark next to all these:

O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149
O15 - Trusted IP range: (HKLM)

Close all other windows and browsers, and press the Fix Checked button.

Update Symantec Software, before installing XP Service Pack 2.

Update Sun Java: latest version = J2SE v 1.4.2_06 JRE - http://java.sun.com/j2se/1.4.2/download.html

! This is very important !: Update your Windows. Doing this will make your computer more secure. Please visit Windows Update (follow this link: http://www.windowsupdate.com) to update Windows. Follow the instructions on the screen. You may have to visit more then once Windows Update to install all updates.
Not updating Windows will leave your computer vulnerable to malware and attacks.

After the installation of the last update make sure you REBOOT the computer, run HijackThis again and post a new log please.

Hi!
All is updated except SP2, cause I have a problem with that.
When I've installed SP2 "My Computer" freezes and I can't access my files. Also, I need to write http:// when trying to access any internet site. Since I thought something must be wrong I decided to uninstall SP2 again.
I will reinstall windows any day now, and I hope that this SP2 problem will be solved by then.

Thanks Cryo for your help so far.
I really appreciate it.

Happy holidays!

O15 - Trusted IP range: 206.161.125.149
O15 - Trusted IP range: (HKLM)

If not post please a new log.

If it's not working try this:

Launch Notepad, and copy and paste the contents of the quote box below into a new text file.

Save it as file name: DelDomains.inf. Save as file type: All files (*.*) and save it on your Desktop.
