Totally out of nowhere, I have Project 1 in my task bar

Then my adaware says i have a win32 trojan downloader and the MalisHasYou trojan

It has totally disabled my pictures, my internet connection, my start menu, and it has totally disabled all of my adware programs like adaware and spybot!

I have no clue how to stop it - i had to rename my hijack this to "showme" in order for it to give me the following log file. . .

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.1

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.
You are really loaded with malware. I don't see signs of an antivirus program in your log. Do you have one?

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!

Thank you for your concern, Sam. I used Dr. Web and it successfully deleted what was messing up my computer - it has ran perfectly ever since.

however, i will download the program you recommended for future use.

Thanks again!!!

That's good to hear, but you've got a plethora of infections in your log. I've never experienced any single program that could successfully clean up everything by itself, so I'm very interested to see what your log looks like after running Dr. Web.

If it's not too much trouble, could you post a new hijackthis log so I can take a look?

It may change my opinion of Dr. Web.

I also want to add that Combofix is a tool that should be carefully and usually under the guidance of an expert. I wouldn't recommend using on your own unless you have the knowledge to interpret the results.

As I suspected, your log shows numerous infections still present. Can you go ahead and run Combofix now?

Please post the log that it creates in your next reply and we'll have a much better idea of what's actually still there.

i'm sorry to stall - but i got nervous

it was telling me not to run it without supervision from an expert because it would instantly delete everything it thought was bad automatically and that it was extremely dangerous.

is it like hijack this in which is lets you pick what to delete - giving me a log file first?

That's ok. It's always best to ask questions first whenever you are unsure. Here's how Combofix will work.

It will scan your system looking for specific files that are known to be malicious, much like an antivirus program. If it finds these files they will be deleted, as they should be. On other infections it looks for a certain pattern in the files that indicate the file is malicious. In these cases the files are quarantined and can be recovered if necessary. It will then create a log that will show us what was deleted, quarantined, and other recently created files that remain on your computer untouched. It will also show us various registry entries that are helpful in diagnosing malware.

I have been using Combofix since it's release and have found it to be an incredible tool. I've run it several hundred times and not once has it removed anything that wasn't bad.

And it will tell us right away what is still left on your computer that Dr. Web has missed. If anything at all.
