Hello. My computer needs to restored, but I lost my recovery discs. I own a compaq computer which runs on Windows XP. Does anyone know where I can download them online? Or does anyone know how to help me? Thank you.

Did you try to run Windows System Restore Wizard? (start>>programs>>accessories>>system tools>>system restore)

Some Compaq's come with a Restore Partition on the D:\ drive. Is this the case with yours?

If you need the actual CD's - you can contact Compaq and they'll send you the CD's for a nominal fee (about $15 US - includes shipping). I've done this twice in the last 6 months.

You'll still need to have the 25 digit key for XP which is usually located on a sticker located on the computer case.

If you give us the model number of your computer we will look to see if your computer has a Recovery function.

Those that do have a Recovery partition usually have that partition hidden so you can't see it.
