Hello LostMan, and welcome to BleepingComputer. My name is Charles and I will be dealing with your log today.

Please take note of the following:
  • I will start working on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine
  • The process is not instant. Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine is clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
Please give me some time to look over your log and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Thanks,
Charles

Hey LostMan, sorry for the delay. :thumbsup:

======

You need to put HijackThis into its own folder. It makes backups and they need to be kept all in one place.

Click My Computer, then C:\
In the menu bar, File->New->Folder.
That will create a folder named New Folder, which you can rename to "HJT". Now you have C:\HJT\ folder. Put your hijackthis.exe there.

======

I see that you are running msconfig in /auto mode which means that you may have selectively removed some items in the past from the startup procedure. This can be bad if they are malware, so we would like you to re-enable those startup entries by doing the following:

Please click on Start | Run, type msconfig and then press enter. When the window opens click on the Startup tab and make sure there are checkmarks in every entry. Then press OK until you are out of the program. If it asks to reboot, do not reboot.

======

Please download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri)
Extract the content (a folder named SmitfraudFix) to your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press "Enter"; a text file will appear, which lists infected files (if present).
Please copy/paste the content of that report into your next reply.

Note : process.exe is detected by some antivirus programs (AntiVir, Dr.Web, Kaspersky) as a "RiskTool"; it is not a virus, but a program used to stop system processes. Antivirus programs cannot distinguish between "good" and "malicious" use of such programs, therefore they may alert the user.

======

Post back with the SmitFraudFix log.
Thanks,
Charles

Hello LostMan, sorry for the delay. I'm afraid I have some bad news concerning your computer: you have at least three backdoor trojans, a rootkit and several worms. These allow hackers to remotely control your computer, steal critical system information and download and execute files.

I would counsel you to disconnect this PC from the Internet immediately. If you do any banking or other financial transactions on the PC or if it should contain any other sensitive information, please get to a known clean computer and change all passwords where applicable, and it would be wise to contact those same financial institutions to apprise them of your situation.

Though the infections have been identified and can be killed, because of their backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure your computer can ever again be trusted. Also, since you have a rootkit on your computer (these try their best to hide themselves from you) there may be lots more that we cannot see, and therefore cannot clean. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this much malware, especially with the number and danger level of the backdoors/rootkits/worms you have, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. Please read these for more information:

How Do I Handle Possible Identify Theft, Internet Fraud and CC Fraud?

When Should I Format, How Should I Reinstall?

However, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your computer and would like me to attempt to clean it, I will be happy to do so, although it may not be successful. Should you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
Let me know what you have decided to do in your next post.
Thanks,
Charles
