Hello!

I'm not very experienced with fixing my computer so please have patience with me...

It all began with my internetbrowser being redirected to some default security page, and a warning about w32.Myzor.FK@yf.

I searched for an explanation on google and found several directions on how to use smitfraudfix. This lead to some questions:

1. How do I download anything or update my anti-virus programs online, when I'm scared to death of having my home banking and other passwords stolen? (I'm even using somebody else's computer to post this message)

2. After downloading the smitfraudfix (onto another computer and transferring it via cd rom) and following the common instructions, I'm never prompted to do anything after having performed options 1 and 2 in the menu. I only get a black screen.

3. I have a virusbursters infection, but still can't get rid of it, because I'm scared to go online.

PLEASE help me!!!

Hello jkj Welcome to the Forum

This is caused by a fairly new variant to the Smitfraud plague
It requires some expert attention. You will find it by letting our HiJack experts guide you thru a fix. Please carefully follow these instructions Preparation Guide for use before posting a HijackThis Log
Once you've completed the post and post it HERE by clicking New Topic, DO NOT make any changes to your PC until advised by a Team member..

Hi again and thanks for your reply:-)

I know, I have to go online to update the various programs, but is it safe?? And what about posting the logs?

Will the prescribed operation also get rid of the virusburster infection?
