Do you hae a antivirus and is it up to date? Are you running antispyware? Do you have a firewall installed and up, other than the Windows XP firewall?
What are your compuyter's specifications
Processor
RAM
Operating System

What program do you have associated with playing the video?

There are usually settings in the program itself to address buffer settings, etc.

How long have you been running MacAfee and AVG? More than one antivirus and\or firewall can cause your system to become unstable.
