Hi.I recently asked Acronis if I could restore an image without using the boot CD.They said I would have to run Restoration from the Windows environment. How do I find and use this? Thanks.

You do this by opening the Acronis program while in Windows. I haven't done this, so I'm sure of any further steps (especially if you're restoring the drive that Windows is working from).

It should walk you through the restore process easily. I prefer to make a recovery disk and boot from that when restoring the boot partition.

What the recovery disk does is it boots you into a copy of Acronis outside of Windows. Then you just navigate through the program normally to install the image.

It's a bit daunting until you've actually done it - but once you've done it, you'll never want to do it any other way!
