My Teac CD-224e is not being recognized. It does not show in "my computer" When starting the Think Pad , I get a message "error loading C:\winnt\cfmgr52.dll" I don't know whether this is related to the CD device problem.

the only thing that comes to mind is to make sure you have the latest drivers. And you could possibly have some corrupted windows drivers or something giving you that error. I know no one likes to reinstall windows, but thats probably the easiest way to fix dumb problems like this.

I'd first suggest a free online scan here: http://safety.live.com/ There are some mentions around the web that the cfmgr52.dll file is Adware ( http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_...Q_21520352.html )

If that doesn't fix it, try uninstalling the device from Device Manager and letting Windows re-detect it on a reboot.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

- John  (my website: http://www.carrona.org/ )**If you need a more detailed explanation, please ask for it. I have the Knack. **  If I haven't replied in 48 hours, please send me a message. My eye problems have recently increased and I'm having difficult reading posts. (23 Nov 2017)FYI - I am completely blind in the right eye and ~30% blind in the left eye.<p>If the eye problems get worse suddenly, I may not be able to respond. If that's the case and help is needed, please PM a staff member for assistance.
