im using my desktop computer right now and im trying to get onto the internet with my laptop, the connection is all set and i use road runner but when i get onto internet explorer the page wont show up and it says detecting proxy settings....anyone know what to do?

In Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, then to Internet Options.

Then click on the Connection tab, then on the LAN Settings button. In IE6 all the boxes should be unchecked (in your case we're specifically looking to see that the box for "Use a proxy server...." is unchecked.

If there are some numbers there, write them down before unchecking the box (just in case you need to put them back in). When I had RoadRunner in El Paso, TX we didn't use a proxy server, so I presume it's the same for the rest of the Road Runner network.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.

I use RR in Florida and do not have a proxy server.
