I have a windows installer prompt box that shoes" Preparing to Install..."(then it gives me the option to cancel but it takes at least 1 minute to do so) everytime I open up a Browser like "My Computer," "Recycle Bin," and any folder in my Desktop. It also happens when I type any directory in the Run option under the Start menu.

I have tried to use RegCure,AdAware, Ewido, and even SmithfraudFix to fix this problem.
Nothing has helped so I'm giving HijackThis as my ultimate shot. Thank you for any assistance.

My log is as follows:

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.
I apologize for the delay getting to your log, the helpers here are very busy.

There is no indication of malware in your log. Unless you are experiencing other issues as well, I recommend starting a new thread in the XP forum here.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!
