Hi there,

My dad managed to get a trojan called (apparently) something like W32.Myzor.fk@yf and it has proved anoying to get rid of. When it comes to viruses I am fairly n00b like. Now I have run a fair number of programs - avast, AVG, Adaware, Norton...I forget the rest....most missed it and a couple seed to see it but refuse to either remove or quarentine it. So anyway, enough rambling. I decided to cut to the chase and try Hijackthis and something odd happened. I ran a scan and requested a log be made and the problem seemed to resolve itself. However upon looking at the log, although I really am not entierly sure what I am looking for I did note the file ISADDON.DLL which kept on cropping up in relation to the virus so now I am wondering if the virus is gone or just lying dormant and what I should do next.

Any help/advice would be very greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance...here is my log:

Hi and welcome to Bleeping Computer! My name is Sam and I will be helping you.

Download SmitfraudFix (by S!Ri) to your Desktop.
Extract all the files to your Destop. A folder named SmitfraudFix will be created on your Desktop.

Open the SmitfraudFix folder and double-click smitfraudfix.cmd
Select option #1 - Search by typing 1 and press Enter
This program will scan large amounts of files on your computer for known patterns so please be patient while it works. When it is done, the results of the scan will be displayed and it will create a log named rapport.txt in the root of your drive, eg: Local Disk C: or partition where your operating system is installed. Please post that log.

Hi there Sam...thanks for your reply,

Here is the log. I was surprised as it generated in a matter of seconds and to me doesn't look too comprahensive - is this because I am not in safe mode or something? Anyway here it is:

No, you did fine. The log is coming back pretty clean.

Run Hijackthis again, click scan, and Put a checkmark next to each of the lines listed below. Then close all other windows--you should only see HijackThis on your Desktop--and click the Fix Checked button.

Reboot your computer.

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Failing to respond back to the person that is giving up their own time to help you not only is insensitive and disrespectful, but it guarantees that you will never receive help from me again. Please thank your helpers and there will always be help here when you need it!
