Hello,

For some weird reason, I've noticed that I've had duplicate scvhost.exe files running. Here's a screen shot:

Is this abnormal?

Thanks,

Not abnormal at all. Having multiple instance of svchost running is to be expected.

I can't see the image, but it's normal to have from 4 to 7 of these buggers running at any one time. But, there was a virus that mimicked this file (either with a slightly different filename - or located in a different directory).

So, it's a good idea to run this free, online scan to ensure you're clean (then you'll know that the one's you have are good): http://safety.live.com/

svchost.exe is a process that lets other services run "underneath" it. To view what these other process' are, you can use this free utility: http://www.sysinternals.com/Utilities/ProcessExplorer.html
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
