just a rumor i heard from a friend i don't know if it's true or not but probably so. Can you change linux from a source or something if so then how. If this makes no sense then that is probably because i'm completly new to linux :trumpet: :inlove: :cool: :) B) :) :thumbsup: :flowers:

there's a million ways to do it...or change linux. That's why it is so powerfull, you can customize to do what you want, not what "they" tell you to do with it. I believe your freind was referrring to "from source" and yes, it's done through the command line or terminal or console or whatever you prefer to call it.


Here's a great tutorial on how to do it, if you feel your ready for it, it's a bit advanced, but you'll want to learn to do it sometime. If you don't feel ready yet, then keep going until you're a bit more comfortable with it, then try.
If someone tells you to su rm -rf /
DON'T DO IT!!!!

yeah, the friend i mentioned earlier was refering to the source code i knew that i just didn't describe anything in detail

You dont need to do anything with the source code. Most of my customisation in ubuntu linux was drag and drop..

mostly linux is open source so anyone can get the source code and mess with it.some are not open source though and dont give there code out.
