Hey Dom7

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad in order to assist you when carrying out the following instructions.

LOP

Please Download NoLop to your desktop from one of the links below...
Link 1
Link 2
Link 3
  • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot
  • Double click NoLop.exe to run it
  • Now click the button labelled "Search and Destroy"
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK
  • Now click the "REBOOT" Button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish. Please post the contents of C:\NoLop.log in your next reply.
--If you receive an error, "mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered," please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program.

Rename Hijackthis:

1. Locate the program Hijackthis.
2. Select the file, right-click and select Rename.
3. Please change the name to: jamielaw
4. Then please could you post a new Hijackthis log.

Vundo Fix:

Please download VundoFix.exe to your desktop
  • Double-click VundoFix.exe to run it.
  • Click the Scan for Vundo button.
  • Once it's done scanning, click the Remove Vundo button.
  • You will receive a prompt asking if you want to remove the files, click YES
  • Once you click yes, your desktop will go blank as it starts removing Vundo.
  • When completed, it will prompt that it will reboot your computer, click OK.
  • Please post the contents of C:\vundofix.txt in your next reply.
Note: It is possible that VundoFix encountered a file it could not remove. In this case, VundoFix will run on reboot, simply follow the above instructions starting from "Click the Scan for Vundo button" when VundoFix appears upon rebooting.

Update Java:

Your version of Java is now outdated. Java vulnerabilites are commonly exploited by viruses so I strongly recommend you update. Click here to download the latest version of java ( Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5.0 Update 9 ). Please install it and then reboot your computer.

Remove the older versions of Java:
  • Click Start, Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs.
  • Delete all Java updates except J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 9
Please can you include the following logs in your next reply - they may need separate posts to stop them getting cut off:

C:\NoLop.log
C:\vundofix.txt
A new Hijackthis log

hey Jamie

i completed the killbox section and when i went to restart it hangs at the windows page with the running scroll bar. I'm in safe mode with networking right now and this is why I can write to you. What happened??

this file did not exist either. C:\WINDOWS\system32\ddayx.dll

i could not perform the ATF cleaner part as the system would not load.

so i'm not too happy right now as I don't know what to do, here is a copy of the hj file.

Hey Dom7

From the last log I noticed you've installed some Logitech product/s. I've had experiences myself with Logitech causing my computer to not start-up properly.

Try uninstalling the software and you should be okay then. Post back and let me know how you get on.

I have tried to unstall and was able to remove some of it but the logitech setpoint it would no allow me to do so it keeps asking me to restart the system. I'm working off my old keyboard and mouse now. It still hangs and i'm still working in safe mode.

is this able to be corrected or should i just reformat now after all of this. Hope I don't have to but here is my last hjf.

Hey Dom7

Fix the HJT entries:
  • Open hijackthis and select the DO A SYSTEM SCAN ONLY option.
  • Place a check next to the following items:

    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {21F29CB1-285B-4A81-A692-CDA3D54D5C57} - (no file)
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {39f25b12-74ff-4079-a51f-1d70f5b08b84} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\ixt0.dll (file missing)
    O3 - Toolbar: Safety Bar - {052b12f7-86fa-4921-8482-26c42316b522} - C:\Program Files\Safety Bar\SafetyBar.dll (file missing)
    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Logitech Hardware Abstraction Layer] KHALMNPR.EXE
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [LogiSPSetupNeedReboot] rundll32.exe
    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [RemoveTempFiles] C:\PROGRA~1\MUSICM~1\MUSICM~1\rundll32.exe C:\PROGRA~1\MUSICM~1\MUSICM~1\mminstall.dll,_ExportRemDirAndContents@16 C:\WINDOWS\temp\MMJB_T~1
    O4 - Global Startup: Logitech SetPoint.lnk = C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\SetPoint.exe
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: ddayx - C:\WINDOWS\
    O20 - Winlogon Notify: wincsg32 - wincsg32.dll (file missing)
  • Close all open browsers and windows, except hijackthis. Then select fix checked . Now close HJT.
Using the KillBox instructions from my earlier posts, please delete these files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\ixt0.dll
C:\Program Files\Safety Bar
C:\WINDOWS\system32\KHALMNPR.EXE
C:\Program Files\Logitech
C:\WINDOWS\system32\wincsg32.dll

I also noticed that you have been installing programs. This I believe is the root of the problem. Please could you uninstall any programs that you tried to install immediately before the problem occured. From the logs you have provided it looks like you tried to update Roxio aswell - please could you revert back to the older version.

Can you boot into normal windows now?
