Advice Needed On Power Supply

I need to upgrade the power supply on my computer. It's currently a 305W and by my calculations, with the upgrades I've made everywhere else, I need 450-500W. I called TigerDirect and their only advice was to buy one from Dell. Any other suggestions?

I do not believe that you need a special power supply for a Dell 4700. Take a look at the following:

Pentium 4 Dell Models that do not require a power supply adapter:
Dell Dimension 4300, 4400, 4700, 8200, 8300, OptiPlex GX 400

Take a look at the motherboard and see if the extra six (6) pin connector is required. If it is not you can probably use a standard power ATX supply. My Dell 4600 uses a standard ATX power supply although not listed as an exclusion in the above Web page.
