I have 0.5M broadband via a LAN with DLink router. I've got IE 5.5 on Windows ME.
Download (pages or files) speeds vary randomly from as low as 300 B/sec (!) to ~ 50kB/sec (the norm).
Often pages won't load and/or timeout. Occasionally the 'refresh' button seems the trigger a page to download immediately. The router is showing the LAN and DSL both connected.

Is this a known problem? Is it a PC, router or line problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
