When I open My Computer, it takes 5 minutes for it to show my drives. Until then, I just get the swaying flashlight. What is causing this delay?

Likely the computer is either indexing the drives or searching for network shares.

Indexing is used for quick searching, but if you don't do a lot of searching, you can turn it off by right-clicking the drive in explorer and undchecking 'Index this drive."
