Graphics Aperture Size does not refer to the memory on the graphics card, but to the amount of main memory used by the graphics card. Having more memory on the graphics card reduces your needed Graphics Aperture Size. With 512MB of graphics memory you can put the Graphics Aperture Size at 64MB.
