Error Install

Hi there,

Yesterday my brother wanted me to install the Sims Complete Collection (1 not 2) on his Win2000. It usually works but when i put the install disk in it says "Error Retreiving *something* From The Registry." I have no idea what happened but would screwing with the registry cause this...hes been trying to learn computers like me...and well...lets say hes already tryed modifyig autoexec.bat to make a batch file -.- . Any help on this issue would be appreciated.

If it's something with the registry, I'd try running CCLEANER to see if it helps, then try installing the game after you run ccleaner and reboot the computer.

Using CCleaner without really understanding how the registry works can do major harm to your operating system or the functionality of other applications running on your computer. Always be sure to make a registry backup BEFORE doing any mucking about in your registry.
It would certainly help if you could provide the EXACT and complete wording of the error message.
