Dunedin has a rather famous railway station which celebrated its centennial recently and proved to be a bonanza for steam loco buffs who came from all over the world to travel on a number of excursion trips. Several locos were built locally and proved to be a big draw card for locals too.

Here are some of them loco 1 loco 2 loco 3 loco 4 loco 5 loco 6 loco 7 loco 8 loco9 loco 10

Thanks for the comments. I am not a photographer and this was my first crack with a new camera so I was quite pleased with the results of point and click. This camera, a Kodak C330, also takes a half hour of video and audio on a 512MB card, so if I can figure it out, will post some video shots as there is nothing quite like living, breathing monster roaring past at high speed a few inches from your nose.

Cheers

ROB: It was such a pleasure viewing those beautiful specimen of a machine, sure brought back lot of nostalgia in my home country. Being a traveler all over the place, unfortunately have never been to NZ, I would have to come to checkout your beautiful country the next time I am over in that part of the world and indulge myself on those fabulous treasures in person would be most enjoyable. Thank you for sharing a bit of your hometown flavor with us. Very nice. Cheers. YOYO.
