Hi All,
Would somebody be kind enough to clarify a couple of symbols? Please.
When a topic is pinned, what does that mean? Also next to the topics in the
threads, the little red squares? Some have them and some don't,why?
Thanks in advance.

Pinning a topic or thread keeps it at the top of each forum above any other posts.
For example in this forum you should see two sections -
pinned and below that the other topics (generally with the newest at the top).

The little red squares denote topics/threads that have a reply to them that you have not yet read.
The only easy day was yesterday.

One other additional thing, if you look at the very bottom of a forum heading there is a legend in the lower left hand corner. It looks like this: Posted Image

That will help you to know what all the different icons mean and you do not have to commit it to memory
