Error Loading Operating System

I got a blue screen and then "Error loading operating system" with a black screen came up. Can somebody please help me.

Dell Laptop Inspiron 8600, Pentium M, 1.4 GHz, 15.4 in WXGA
512MB, DDR, 333MHz, 2 Dimms
32MB NVIDIA GeForce FX Go5200 Go Card
40GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
No Floppy Drive
4X DVD+RW
Microsoft Windows XP Home

If you are in the process of setting up Windows XP,your computer might not support the capacity of the hard disk on which you are installing Windows XP.
Read thru This Micro$oft KB article.
Chaos reigns within.

I believe that Dell has a recovery option that will allow you to repair your system without losing your data.
My browser caused a flood of traffic, sio my IP address was banned. Hope to fix it soon. Will get back to posting as soon as Im able.
