Is it there are just some programs that won't work with certain computers? I ask this because I use to use Ad-Aware Se personal and still use it on the family computer and my brother's laptop, but on mine it just won't work. Well, it use to work but about 3 months after I got my computer I got a really nasty virus and reformatted my hard drive and then after that I could never get Ad Aware SE Personal to work again. What happens is after it starts scanning for a few seconds my screen flashes and everything turns into looking like windows 98 (i'm running windows xp SP2) then eventually the "blue screen" comes up saying windows has run out of memory or w/e. Also, this has happened with my friend with a certain program he uses to play an online game, which I use too and it works fine, but what happens to him after playing for a few minutes the "blue screen" just comes up. Anyone know whats wrong with this?

Sounds like something got corrupted with the virus.

The Blue Screen is a serious hardware error. Give us the particulars and we can work out a solution. Here's a HowTo for finding the info in your Event Viewer: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/40108/how-to-use-event-viewer/

Haha, thanks usama, but the weird thing is I reinstalled the program and this time it didn't give me the bsod when I did a scan. Maybe it was something in an update that fixed this. Well i'll still give my friend this info for his problem, and thanks for the info, I might still need to know this in the future.

In most BSOD errors there's a little blurb that says something like "if this is the first time that you've seen this, go ahead and reboot and don't worry about it"

Sometimes it takes a reboot or two before the program changes actually "stick".
