I uninstalled quicktime, or at least i thought I did...I mean I can't open it on my computer anymore. But now I keep getting a message "A newer version of quicktime is already installed on your computer" whenever I try to re-install it! What can I do?

Thanks!

Hello Cecilia07
Assuming XP...
You did use add/remove in the to uninstall that too, then reinstall Itunes and QT from apple HERE
If not after following below, you may desire to install Quicktime Alternative instead of QT, read the options on page in link.

Open Local Disk C: in My Computer or whichever disk programs are installed on.
Open the Program Files folder.
Right-click the QuickTime folder and select Delete and choose Yes when asked to confirm the deletion.
Delete the QuickTime and QuicktimeVR files located in the C:\Windows\system32\ folder.
Right-click on the Recycle Bin and on the shortcut menu, click Empty Recycle Bin.
Restart your computer.

You can do a search, type quicktime, and see what it finds.

How do I get help? Who is helping me?For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear....Become a BleepingComputer fan: Facebook
