Hi,
I'm new to this game so please bear with me.
I installed windows xp on my old laptop and it turns out its not powerful enough to run it.
My problem is when I go to format C drive it won't let me. So I don't know how to wipe the hard drive and reinstall windows 98.
Any help would be appreciated!

Use your W98 boot disk and format the hard drive for Fat32.

Are you sure you can't run XP?

Here's What You Need to Use Windows XP Home Edition

PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended

128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features)

1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.*

Super VGA (800 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor

CD-ROM or DVD drive

Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device

Thanks for the fast reply, Enthusiast,
Unfortunatly, I only have Windows xp pro. The laptop is a NEC pentium 2, 300 MHZ . So I guess I'm pushing the envelope!
If I run the W98 disk will it automatically replace the windows xp?

Format the disk and install W98.

You may need a Boot Disk to format the drive.

Get the Windows 98 OEM or 98SE OEM whichever is applicable
