Am about to install AVG 7.1 and probably then upgrade to latest version (I believe 7.5). Is anyone using AVG? Comments on suitability for Windows XP? I currently have Norton AV2006 and hear that it's not worth the money. Does AVG scan Instant Messages? Any comments greatly appreciated. Jim

If you like nice protection, Avast should cover better than AVG. But then again, no AV is always secure. So, try them out. Cheers !

I am unsure about what you mean by "scanning instant messages" but AVG does have real-time protection against downloads. There are several good, free anti-virus applications around, among which is certainly AVG which I have used for several years with satisfaction.
