I was nearing full capacity, so I compressed my drive. I made some room with some select deletions,
and uncompressed the HD (tick box within Advanced options within properties). now I got black screen.
I think I have DOS capabilities. trying to save the $$$ before I bring to shop.
thanks all....flightschool

Do you have a repair/restore disk - or an original Windows XP installation CD?

Can you access the contents of the hard drive (to recover your data) either using a DOS boot disk (maybe with an NTFS reader) or a Live Linux distro?

Do you want to repair the installation - or do you just want to get your data off of it and then reformat it?
