Creating Account In Xp Pro

I'm new with XP Pro, never really use it but I now have a secondary computer, and it's XP Pro, and I want to create an account but it asks for domain what is that?

Domain:
(1) A group of computers and devices on a network that are administered as a unit with common rules and procedures. Within the Internet, domains are defined by the IP address. All devices sharing a common part of the IP address are said to be in the same domain.

thanks, I switched to the Admin account and was able to create the account without a domain

You only need a domain if the computer is to be a part of a large business or organization network with more than one workgroup.
