We recently had an employee leave the company and his Gateway laptop is locked with a password prompt that appears before the computer even boots up....even if you open through the BIOS or safemode we can't anywhere without the password. Is there a way to bypass this and still get into this thing? Right now it's just an expensive paperweight.

There are methods to access that system.
Find a local area professional to help you.

Though we'd like to believe the circumstances you present,
we have no way of knowing or verifying such for sure.
