Hi guys,

i've got quite an annoying problem.
I have a Sony Vaio VGN AR-11B, and since a week or so, in some games, the keyboard controls respond very late, like seconds after i actually hit the key

so for example: i want to make a right turn, so i press the right arrow key, but i still go forward a few seconds before actuallly going right...

and it's not only the arrow keys, but all of the keys...

You guys have an idea of what may be the problem here?
Would be appreciated very much!

Thanx!

Say you are typing a letter using a word processor, does the same thing sometimes happen? If it were the keyboard, then you would expect the lag to happen off and on with any use. Have you installed any game patches recently, and when have you defragged last? I would tend to suspect something other than an actual hardware problem.
Regards,
John

hey guys, the problem only occurs in games (i've got about 5 or 6 installed)

i'm very careful with what i install so i don't really think i did anything wrong myself...
and i've got diskeeper installed which starts defragging everytime the screensaver turns on, and i do a manual defrag about every two weeks...

you might want to try reinstalling the games i know that your problem can come from multitasking while you are playing the game or even just playing music though i don't think your computer is as bad as the ones i am used to. Then again though that probably isn't it if it just does it to your keyboard. Anyway try reinstalling.

ok,i found the problem!

I tried closing apps while gaming (like msn, du meter, spysweeper,...) and the controls reacted normal again!

So i'm gonna try and find out which app caused the disturbance, and i'll let you guys know!

Thanx anyhow!
