Hey there,

its the bleepin silly german again with a stupid question. I have like 3 huge folders with all my notes from my apprenticeship which I would like to "digitalise" and put em on my website. Now so far I ve been writing my text directly in html with all the tags, but considering that we are talking bout 300 pages of notes +++ and there are graphics in between, that seems a lil too awkward and I was hopeing to find an alternative. I know you can save word / writer files as html, but is that a good idea in terms of tags and formatting used?

Thanks for any ideas / comments / links / help :thumbsup:

Johannes

Hi tg1911,

I use html kit as shown on our very own freeware list here. Had a look at your tool and what they have as "design" view would probably be what i need, in order not to have to hard code it. Didnt really find my way around selida tho and I guess images would still be a problem.

Thanks anyway and brgds from germany

What do you mean?

Insert

* Hyperlink
* Image Upgraded!
* Color Upgraded!
* Quick color Upgraded!

from Features List

I thought this feature would be the most useful for you.

Q: Is it possible to import a text file and convert it to HTML
A: Sure! Go to Tools | Convert RTF to HTML. Click on File and then Open in the new dialog and select Text files in the File of type dropdown list. Browse to the file you want to insert, and click Open. Click on Insert to insert the file into the active document.

Hey tg1911, what I meant is that I made those lil graphics and tables in a word document and then sort of just paste it into a html tool if possible. Their feature seems to just refer to the img tag I assume.

I ll give it another try. It was just that it had all green arrows in the toolbar area and stuff that iritated me most. Currently I have started to type my notes in OO Writer, but I should be able to save the files as RTF i believe.

Thanks again tg1911

Well you can use word to save it as html. Unfortunately, though, word makes the most disgusting html with way too much markup.

Hey guys,

thanks again for the suggestions. I have to decided to do it the old fashioned way and hard code it. I ve got some payware stuff like dreamweaver as an older version, but since I ve been told that they produce crapy code too and I am used to do my commenting myself from old coding days...

Just one quick question tho. I have to implement a table, as seen here:
http://ship.mytidbits.de/unterschied.html

I have tried a few measures to get it to not screw up my site and make it fit but dont seem to work. Anyone an idea how to do that?

Also is there a way to position a graphic over a html table? like this:

Thanks for any input.

regards,

Johannes

Hi Grinler,
thanks for the reply. Yesterday it was all srewed up for me. Now Firefox looks fine and IE is twisted. Have heard before tho that it shows skewed for me and others trying in on IE was fine o.O.

Does anyone know how I can get this image over my table (the square with "Neobulk" in it, plus that arrow below) ?

Thanks again.

Johannes

Johannes ,

I just tried it in IE6, IE7, and FF

No probs on any of them.

What do you mean by image and arrows? I dont see any.

So you want an image to be placed over the table? Like the table is one layer and the image is another? If so you are probably going to have to use CSS of some sort.

Good Morning,

thanks for retesting. Website finaly looks correct to me too. Yes, I was referring to the above image. I somehow need to have that "Neobulk" plus "Tendenz" and the arrow to be on top of the table, as its sort of belonging to both categories displayed in that table.

Thanks for the tipp, will have a look for CSS tonite.

Cheers and have a good start into the week.
rgds,

Johannes
