[size=5]For some time now I have been unable to navigate within certain sites without dragging and dropping the next connection into the address bar. This has been a pain but liveable with. My daughter can open her Bank home page but the log in key will not activate and neither can I drag and drop. The site is fine because I've double checked on two other computers.I've run my anti v and Ad Aware etc and there seems to be no beastie in there so can some kind soul throw some light on this please?
Cheers Dave  :flowers:

It could be a problem with Java. To reinstall Java, uninstall using Add/Remove. Then go to the site in the link below to download latest Java.

Hi, this one interests me
remember I am working blind so bare with me
it seems that we are dealing with two problems
- that of your computer's inability to link
- that of your daughter's computer inability to log in

please could you choose which computer this thread deals with
later we can address the other problem in another thread

also if you haven't mentioned it yet:
- what model of computer
- what os, XPpro or home
- how old is it

Thanks enthusiast.. I have done as suggested and also allowed pop ups on this site as suggested on the banks own pages .. but now we get a pop up after clicking "Log in" saying that the page is trying to open a trusted site and do we wish this ..."Yes" brings nothing... is there something I've missed ?

Perhaps the settings in "Internet Options" for scripting and security have been changed. Suggest you reset those options to "default" under the Internet zone (medium) and under the security tab.
If you haven't upgraded to IE7, and the above doesn't fix the problem, that would be an option you should consider.
You could also install another browser such as Firefox.

Hi Enthusiast - We run AVG anti virus and also have Windows Defender, Ad Aware ,Spybot, Spyware blaster,
and a freeware programme that has 4000= malware programmes in IE Blocked sites.
Although nothing has gone on recently I have had the up and down linking problem for some time - some sites I can link everything some less so . For instance in my Yahoo mail I have to drag the link to this site into the status bar to get it to open...
Cheers Dave
