Can anyone recommend a program (preferably free) for making slideshow w/ music presentations... something that will create a stand-alone .exe file?

The thing is, I'd like to make something with music & pics of the grandchildren to distribute to family members.

IrfanView

After you install Irfanview, open it up, and click F1.
That'll open the Help file.
Click the Contents tab.
Double-click File Menu.
Double-click, and read, these 2 entries:
Slideshow
Slideshow from CD

I've taken a look at Irfanview, but it seems like too much fraffing around to make slideshows - I was really looking for something more straightforward. It can be done in windows moviemaker, but the number of transitions on offer is severely limited.
